Jack is Lachie's cousin and Becks is his partner. They are touring Europe for 4 months, and they have today arrived in Reggio for 3 days. A happy timing coincidence for us. Lachie and Chiara give them a tour of the old city - including our hotel.
It includes Lachie's favourite book store. Jack is in the sports section.
Then to Reggio's very large Theatre. It is much bigger than you would expect in a town of Reggio's size. It is close by to the pizza place where we will have lunch.
Pizza Pirru.
My pizza arrived. I bonzoed. That means I made the wrong choice. The others all looked better than mine - a bit of a fried base and not that tasty.
Photos did not turn out that well either. But it was a great conversation, alot about diplomats as a career, as that was what Jack thought he wanted to do but now he's not so sure.
After pizza we have a quick 30-minute pit stop (Harry?) back at the hotel. Then it is back to Ficarelli's, including saying goodbye to Nonna.
Chiara and Lachie show off their his and her shoes.
Then off to Chiara's favourite ice cream shop just 5oo m from the Ficarelli house.
Yum. These flavours are vegan cacao and vanilla. This has to be good for me.
Then we go hiking in the hills before drinks and dinner at a winery nearby. We walk for an hour.
Then it was time to chill at the winery. In July and August it has music and nice outdoor food on Wednesday nights. This was the last Wednesday night of the summer. The night was balmy, warm and wonderful. Where the sun shone it was bright and you could find shade where it was cooler.
We had wine, gourmet burgers, and chats while we listened to the music. A balmy, relaxing and super fun night. Thank you Lachie for organising, and Becks for wanting to go to a winery. Great combo organisation.
The first photo is before everybody arrived. I wasn't allowed to take many photos sorry.
Queues to get food.
Chiara and Paolo.
Lachie and Chiara.
Then it was back to Reggio - after another fun day.
