At the end of this day we stayed in Lekeitio. Here was our first sighting.
Below was our journey to get there.
As we leave it begins to rain. It may not be much.
We put on our coats as we leave Zumaia.
We climb into the hills. Bill leads on the straight. I lead up the hills. We didn't stop too much as we were trying to beat the rain. The coastline is stunning.
We stopped for lunch at Ondarroa.
During lunch, I see two birds - a shag and a gull on this red vertical pole. We can't decide what they would use the pole for. The birds love it anyway.
I see the shag dry its wings, like the washing in the background.
We bike on. We see Lekeitia.
Not my photo. You can walk out to the island at low tide. There is a walkway and a two-hour window to get out there at this time of year. We didn't try as we arrived at 3.30 and low tide was 2.30 pm. The next day it was 3.00 am.
This is our hotel and a mural nearby.
The next morning early we went for a walk around the bay. Lekeitio is a fishing town, though maybe now bikers help the economy.
