And into the 3rd day. The weather doesn't look great today and Miguel had said we can get a ferry to shorten the day. Look on the map next and we can cut out the big loop by catching a ferry at the bottom of the loop. I am up for this. Laida to Mundaka. It looks like we could blow up a dingy and row across. It saves a lot of cycling and we don't miss much scenery. (We do miss Gernika, which will mean something to some of you.) Given we know it will be wet today, this is something to look forward to.
We set off.
We got to Laida, had two cups of coffee and I took videos of where we were going. . Just over there. Bad weather is coming.
We asked around about the ferry. You couldn't book places, you just had to get it when you got there.
Then we got told it wasn't going today . . . high winds.
The weather was getting closer.
On our bikes it will have to be.
For two hours we had our heads down, getting soaked. This was the only photo I got after that - we stopped for a little shelter one time when it got very heavy.
We got to Mundaka and the weather cleared for five minutes for us to see how far we had come. The cafe and the ferry are just under the big building at the start of this video. And the tide is now out . . .
We went out for dinner and an early night. Hung the clothes all around the room (though we did not have a washing line - note to self to bring one next time.)
Mundaka in the sun looks like this. Clothes dried.
