Thursday/Rāpare
Packing up to leave, spotted this out of bedroom window. A big cruise ship.
This is where we stayed.
We went to visit the Aquarium in the afternoon. The mission of the nonprofit Monterey Bay Aquarium is to inspire conservation of the ocean. It was the inspiration of Julie E. Packard who was an American marine algae biologist, ocean conservationist and philanthropist. She helped create the Aquarium in the early 1980s and was it's executive director till 1984.
In the big aquarium this is the first thing we saw. Wow she was pretty impressive. Big Blue Fish I will call her. Maybe 10 years old a volunteer offered.
Then we fund the eels!. I had not heard of these garden eels below. Below that moray eels. Of course I was interested in eels.
Striped Moray Eel
Yellow Moray Eel
Then we flew Air Lingus via Dublin to Manchester. No business class this flight. It was cramped and an 11 hour flight for the first leg, 1 1/2 hours for the second. Left at 5.45pm and arrived mid afternoon Manchester time, to get to where we are staying, City Suites.
