Monday/Rāhina
We went for an early morning walk in Oxford. We did a loop beside the Thames River . . .
. . . and Christchurch Meadow . . .
. . . we kept walking . . .
. . . to the Cherwell River . . .
Bill wondering where I am? Answer - "I'm taking photos for my blog Bill."
. . . and then to Bill's old College, below (he still knows how to find his way in). Bill studied PPE - Politics, Philosophy, and Economics 1980 - 82. It was an undergraduate degree. His only real learning that still sticks around today is he reads the Times Newspaper cover to cover for an hour and a half daily.
Bill in Merton St outside where he lived in his 1st year.
Bill found a shortcut. Check the empty bottle I spotted. Students haven't changed.
University College (Univ) from the front.
The quad at Univ. It was too early for the (summer) students to be up.
Christchurch College quad. It is the biggest there is. Many British Prime Ministers have come from this college. Boris Johnson could have, except he didn't - he went to Balliol. Many have gone to Eton, then Christchurch.
Pembroke College. On the walk and pretty spectacular I thought.
Then we were off to Durham to watch the Black Caps. We are now on the train to Durham.
We are staying at Seaham Hall for 3 nights.
Seaham is on the coast not far from where the cricket will be, between Newcastle and Durham. If you go in a straight line straight out from here you will cross the North Sea and hit Denmark.
