Thursday/Rāpare
Off to Torr Head. Goodbye Rathlin Island in the distance.
At Torr Head.
No tourists here. You are off the the beaten track. A recommendation to visit here by Seamus (my favourite place so far).
A bit hard to see but it is very windy. The Irish coast is wild with lots of currents, and many drownings in history off this wild coast.
Selfie at Torr Head.
Plastic bag caught up in fence, then it goes to the ocean etc.
I started to be a good girl here, and pick the plastic bags up. I did not want to forget to put the bag in the bin and it was yucky. This could be in NZ too.
The road we were biking. This is a lot steeper than it looks here. We walked up most of it.
"Stop taking photos" Bill says. "Get on your bike."
Downhill. Phew!
Stop for lunch at Cushenden.
Game of Thrones filming took place here in Cushenden Caves. We have never watched it. Near Storms End, the storm lands, for those that do (season two).
Where we stayed in Cushendall, our final stop today. Family business. There are two sons. Parents were farmers. One son and his wife in left hand house and other son is being built a house to right and back.
We went for a walk around another golf course. Young Shane Lowry's of course.
Cushendall beach.
Main street of Cushendall.
This is James McCurrie who has lived around these parts for 84 years. He was happy to talk.
