17th - 20th September. I have appointments with dentist, doctor, meet with AUT students, visit Mum and catch up with friends. I remembered to get this photo. It was so great to catch up with Diny and James.
This is Gentau and Paul. Paul adjusts all my joints and Gentau gives me cupping and acupuncture (body maintenance). I feel on a different health channel after I have seen them.
I have no car in Auckland now. It is in Waiheke. I learn how to take the trains.
AUT students putting my game about eels online. Standing is Boris, the staff person in charge. I have been having meetings over Zoom every 3 weeks. I am here in person today.
I buy a new camera for Antarctica and the nature leg of the trip. I can't pick it up until the airport (duty free). This camera can zoom in closer to get bird expressions etc. It is a Lumix FZ2500. No extra lens required. It will do the trick.
Bill and I watch a Netflix called 'Inside Bill's Brain' (Bill Gates that is). There are some similarities between the two if I am honest and differences are we don't have the billions. Ha ha.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aCv29JKmHNY "This three-part documentary tells Bill Gates’ life story, in-depth and unfiltered, as he pursues unique solutions to some of the world’s most complex problems. From Academy Award-winning director Davis Guggenheim (An Inconvenient Truth, He Named Me Malala)."
We also really enjoyed this Ted Talk. https://www.ted.com/talks/carole_cadwalladr_facebook_s_role_in_brexit_and_the_threat_to_democracy?language=en "In an unmissable talk, journalist Carole Cadwallar digs into one of the most perplexing events in recent times: the UK's super-close 2016 vote to leave the European Union. Tracking the result to a barrage of misleading Facebook ads targeted at vulnerable Brexit swing voters -- and linking the same players and tactics to the 2016 US presidential election -- Cadwalladr calls out the "gods of Silicon Valley" for being on the wrong side of history and asks: Are free and fair elections a thing of the past?"
