We arrive in Boston 14th June 2022. Our first overseas flight since leaving Peru in a hurry in March 2020 because of the pandemic. Bill and I took a walk along from the Royal Sonesta where we stayed.
Bill didn't want a photo so I show off my teeth - getting straighter (50 weeks into Invisiliners, 25 to go).
The next day Lachie and Chiara come to Boston to visit for a day. It is super duper to see them both. Chiara gives us a tour of Harvard. Chiara is studying Ethnography and Anthropology. I am slightly taller than Chiara. (I guess that was the anthropology bit, Ed.)
Chiara's study area and office.
After the Harvard tour we went to lunch at a cool cafe Chiara knew.
We walked for a bit and I caught this bottle tree on the way to the coffee shop.
Another cool cafe for a coffee.
Then to the Boston viaduct, a much larger version than the Auckland viaduct.
All the viaduct was reclaimed from a wetlands. They were sprawling and must have been a rich biodiversity when the wetlands were around. These ducks were a symbol for me that nature may still be able to thrive.
This is an apartment Chiara would eye up if she was ever living in Boston.
We finished with a beer at a lovely bar not far from here. (Photo? Ed.)
